Knack

Coming soon to iPhone and Android

Kitchen skills, one picture at a time.

Knack turns every technique into a handful of clear, illustrated steps you can follow with flour on your hands. No 12-minute videos. No scrolling past someone's life story.

Dice an onion

2 / 6
root2 6s loop

Cut down, stop at the root

Use the tip of the knife. Leave the last centimetre whole so the onion holds together.

Next step

The bit of the recipe that says “finely dice”, finally explained.

Recipes assume you already know how. Videos make you hunt for the 30 seconds you need. Knack shows you the technique, step by step, in the time it takes to preheat the oven.

One step, one picture

Every technique is broken into 4–8 illustrated cards. Glance at your phone, see exactly where the knife goes, get back to cooking.

Made for messy hands

Big type, a screen that stays awake and a voice “next” so you never have to wipe your fingers to scroll.

Checked by real cooks

Illustrations are AI-generated and clearly labelled. Every guide is reviewed by a working cook before it's published.

A peek inside the library

Four of the first guides, exactly as they'll look in the app. Pro members also get a short looping video for every step.

Questions

When does Knack launch?

We're finishing the first library of kitchen guides now. Waitlist members get an email the day it's live on iPhone and Android. That's the only email we'll send.

What's the difference between Free and Pro?

Free gives you every illustrated guide, with ads. Pro adds a short looping video for each step, removes ads, and unlocks hands-busy mode, offline guides and unlimited saves.

Will I be charged if I join the waitlist?

No. Joining the waitlist is free and doesn't need a card. If you choose Pro at launch, you'll get a 7-day free trial before any charge.

Is the content made by AI?

The illustrations and videos are AI-generated so we can cover hundreds of techniques in a consistent style. The steps and text are written and checked by people, and every AI image is labelled.

Why only kitchen skills?

We'd rather do one thing really well. Knife work, doughs, eggs and sauces come first. Tell us what to add next when you join.

Be first in line when Knack opens the kitchen.

One email on launch day. That's it.
